Meeting Description: Acquiring Excellent Character through the Prophetic Tradition

New Muslims are often bombarded with rules that are not always presented to them in the most desirable manner. Their experiences with the larger Muslim community are not always as pleasant as they should be. Some take it upon themselves to judge others, overlooking the quintessential significance of Rahmah i.e. Mercy in Islam. Shaykh Samer will discuss the importance of treating each other with kindness while quoting examples from the Prophetic tradition. He will explain why being merciful is an imperative part of having good character in Islam, and how this can bring us closer to Allah swt. He will also speak about the status of our dear Prophet, what it means to love him (Allah bless him and give him peace), and what is the correct way to go about it.
Cost: $10* (To purchase tickets in Advance, please call 212-354-4320 or register online)

He also teaches Hanafi Fiqh at Ma`had al-Fath al-Islami, and outside of these formal classes he has numerous students that study a range of Islamic disciplines with him privately, from Tafsir & Hadith to Ulum-ul-Qur'an & Tasawwuf. In addition to this, he is medical doctor with a private practice. He did his residency and fellowship in America and continues to practice medicine in Damascus.
